Assessment
The review of management systems to confirm compliance with Sunoco's Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS). The assessment serves as a comprehensive evaluation of management systems (how work gets done) and falls into the Check category of the Plan, DO, Check, Act continuous improvement cycle. The goal is to identify management systems weaknesses with a focus on the root causes of why the desired outcomes are not or might not be achieved. The assessment is performed by personnel independent of the facility or unit that is the subject of the assessment.
